ClarifiedBy… Data Quality

In an ideal world, we’d be able to offer our clients fully comprehensive profiles on every entity across the Middle East and Africa (MEA). Presently, it’s a goal we are working towards – not for want of trying, but because the data landscape across the region is far from uniform.
The reality of disclosure across MEA
Countries across the MEA region operate under different disclosure laws and practices. For example, in South Africa, companies are not required to disclose their owners, while in several other countries, company registries are not published electronically at all.
In Kuwait, Private Joint Stock Companies — also known as Kuwait Shareholding Closed Companies (KSCC) — are not obliged to file the full list of shareholders. Only the board of directors is disclosed, while shareholding details remain confidential unless voluntarily reported.
Similarly, in the United Arab Emirates, entities registered in offshore jurisdictions (such as JAFZA, RAKEZ, or Ajman Offshore) operate under strict confidentiality laws. The names of directors and shareholders are not made public, and only limited information — typically the company name and place of registration — is available.
This means much of the information we provide is based on records that have been individually retrieved and manually curated by our in-house team — a painstaking but essential process that ensures our data is as accurate and reliable as possible.
Gold, Silver, and Bronze Profiles
To maintain transparency and clarity for our clients, we categorise our organisation profiles according to their level of completeness on our platform, ClarifiedBy:
- Gold Profiles (Full)
These meet our minimum criteria for fullness, including all key registry data such as directors and shareholders. Even so, some areas — for example the Holdings section — may not be entirely complete. - Silver Profiles (Partial)
These do not yet meet our minimum criteria for a Gold profile but still contain valuable information to help clients assess the relevance and significance of that entity to their needs. - Bronze Profiles (Partial)
Only limited information is currently available.
In all cases, clients can request an update at any time, and our team will revisit the data to incorporate the latest available information.
Our commitment to data quality
At Diligencia, data is at the heart of everything we do. We’re constantly refining our processes — working closely with our sources, encouraging open data, and embracing leading-edge technologies — to deliver ever fuller, reliable profiles for even more entities across MEA.
Our goal is simple: to give our clients the clearest possible view of the entities they work with.
And who knows — perhaps one day, with greater collaboration and openness across the region, we’ll be able to achieve Gold across the board.
