Scaling data intelligence: How automation is transforming our MEA coverage

As demand for reliable business intelligence across the Middle East and Africa continues to grow, so does the challenge of acquiring, enriching, and maintaining high-quality entity data at scale.

Over the past year, we have significantly expanded our coverage by combining advanced automation with expert data validation. This approach has enabled us to add millions of new entities, improve data freshness, and accelerate the delivery of trusted information to our clients.

Automation at the core of our data strategy

Today, we collect and process data from more than 350 official sources, powered by a robust automation framework that touches every stage of our data lifecycle. From ingestion and cleansing through to enrichment and publishing, automation has become the backbone of our operations - streamlining workflows, reducing manual effort, and accelerating delivery times.

Technology enabling scale

Our automation framework is built on Microsoft cloud technologies, that support large scale processing and delivery:

Microsoft Fabric powers data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and analytics across our workflows.

Azure SQL Database provides a scalable and reliable foundation for storing, managing, and serving enriched entity information.

Automated validation and quality-control processes help ensure consistency, accuracy, and timely updates.

Together, these capabilities allow our team to focus less on operational tasks and more on enhancing data quality, expanding coverage, and responding quickly to evolving client requirements.

The human touch still matters

While automation enables scale, human expertise remains critical to maintaining data quality. Our team plays a vital role in validating complex ownership structures, identifying ultimate beneficial owners (UBOs), and verifying affiliations and shareholding relationships. These tasks often require judgement and contextual understanding that automation alone cannot provide.

This combination of automated processing and expert review ensures that our clients receive data they can trust, even in the most complex and opaque markets.

Expanding our coverage and capability

The impact of this transformation has been significant.

Over the past year alone, we’ve added millions of new Middle East and Africa (MEA) entities to our database, each enriched with a wide range of datapoints.

Clients can access this information seamlessly through the ClarifiedBy platform or via the ClientConnect API, enabling integration into their existing workflows.

Looking ahead: Bigger, fresher, better

Our ambition is to continue expanding both the scale and quality of our data.

By the end of 2026, we aim to reach 30 million organisation profiles across the Middle East and Africa. At the same time, we are focused on improving data freshness, with a target of ensuring that 50% of organisation profiles are less than one year old by the end of this year.

For our clients, this means broader coverage, more current information, and greater confidence in the data that supports critical business decisions.
