Mapping regional ownership structures for companies in the Middle East - Diligencia

Written by Diligencia | May 31, 2020 11:00:00 PM

The challenge:

Many large family-owned conglomerates in the Gulf have subsidiaries or investments spanning the MENA region but often detailed information for these companies can be hard to source due to minimal disclosure requirements. A client was interested to understand the UBO structure and broader ownership connections of a large construction firm in Saudi Arabia.

The solution:

At Diligencia we actively map these relationships using data acquired from multiple official sources, both public and private, across the region. Our data is made available via our proprietary online platform, www.ClarifiedBy.com, and our client was able to access a single view of the firm’s corporate structures across the region using our portal.

To help clients navigate connections, between an organisation or an individual and their owners or holders, we include easy-to-use interactive network diagrams for each entity and individual that we hold data for.

The result:

Our client was able to establish that the construction firm has interests in Bahrain, Egypt and Kuwait as well as extensive holdings throughout Saudi Arabia. By navigating to its key directors, our client was further able to identify stakes held by the firm’s chairman in companies in Morocco, Lebanon and the UAE.
